Physical Therapy

Eby Physical Therapy believes that physical therapy should be individualized and holistic. What does that mean? It means that you will receive a thorough evaluation and a treatment plan specific to you, not just to your diagnosis. It means that if you have foot pain, we will look at your alignment, your strength, your flexibility, your gait and balance, among other things. It means that we may treat an area that is away from the site of your pain. It means that you will have plenty of time to ask questions. It means that you will have 60 minutes of one-on-one time with the physical therapist. It means you will be involved in goal setting and will be expected to participate at home in your recovery.

What might your physical therapy session consist of? We use the following techniques and assessments, among others:

  • joint mobilization

  • soft tissue mobilization

  • gait training

  • balance training

  • strengthening

  • therapeutic exercise

  • personalized home exercise program

"Sue is a great P.T. and a true healer. I first met her shortly after I moved to NYC in 2005. She has a great combination of clinical knowledge and listening skills. More important, she is a warm and caring person with clear intentions who works with her clients to come up with workable, sustainable solutions. She went above and beyond to help me find a solution to my foot and ankle problems and to find the resources I need here in Manhattan."
