Foot Orthotics
Foot Orthotics are in-shoe supports which are designed to correct abnormal foot or lower extremity (ankle, knee, hip) function. By realigning the foot (and thus the lower extremity), orthotics reduce the strain on joints and injured tissues, allowing them to heal, as well as improve your posture and gait mechanics. Foot orthotics can be an important part of the treatment of the foot and the lower extremity. Eby Physical Therapy offers both custom and semi-custom orthotics.
Custom Foot Orthotics
Custom Foot Orthotics are designed specifically for your feet. A one-hour evaluation includes postural and gait assessments, foot and ankle range of motion and mobility, photos, videos, and plaster casting of your feet. The orthotics are fabricated, based on evaluation and casts, at Stride, Inc. Custom Orthotics. Delivery time is approximately three weeks (rush orders are available).
Semi-Custom Foot Orthotics
Semi-Custom Foot Orthotics are pre-fabricated orthotics that are based on 6 different foot types. Your foot type will be assessed and you will be fitted with the appropriate device. If the cost of custom orthotics is prohibitive or if the use of orthotics is expected to be short-term, semi-custom orthotics are an excellent alternative to custom orthotics.
